Two Ways to Change your SRD payment method to ShopRite 2024
There are two ways to change your SRD payment method to ShopRite:
1. Online:
- Follow the same steps as changing your bank details online (mentioned in my previous response):
- Visit the SASSA SRD website: https://srd.sassa.gov.za/
- Choose your ID type and scroll down to “Banking Details Update.”
- Instead of clicking “How do I change my banking details,” click “Apply for change or change method for SASSA R350 grant payment.”
- Proceed with verification using your ID number and phone number received via SMS.
- On the secure link, select “ShopRite” as your new payment method and follow the instructions to complete the change.
2. At a SASSA Local Office:
- Visit your nearest SASSA local office with the following documents:
- Original and certified copy of your South African ID document or Refugee Permit/Asylum Seeker’s permit.
- Proof of residence (e.g., utility bill, lease agreement).
- Proof of bank account closure (if applicable).
- Completed SRD Payment Method Change form (which you can download from the SASSA website or collect at the office).
Additional Information:
- Changing your SRD payment method to ShopRite will require you to open a Shoprite Money Market Account. This account is free to open and maintain, but there may be charges for specific transactions.
- You can collect your SRD grant at any ShopRite store nationwide during their operating hours.
- Be aware of potential waiting times at SASSA offices.
Important Tip:
- Make sure you understand the terms and conditions of the Shoprite Money Market Account before opening it. You can find them on the ShopRite website
I hope this comprehensive information helps you change your SRD payment method to ShopRite!
